CEBU CITY, Philippines—Two persons were killed in a fire that hit SB Cabahug Street in Barangay (village) Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City at 5 a.m. Thursday.
Two bodies were found by fire investigators who were waiting for the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel to examine the remains.
Seven two-storey houses owned by a former Barangay Ibabao-Estancia chairman and by the owner of St. Jude Memorial Homes were destroyed by the fire.
A wake in one chapel had to be transferred to another chapel in front of the fire site. Some of the houses were ancestral homes built in the 1950s.
