Chinese-American passenger held in Clark for carrying cocaine

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Philippines—A Chinese-American traveller from Dubai was caught carrying two kilograms of suspected cocaine on Sunday night by the Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group at the Clark International Airport (CRK).

The alleged contraband was found hidden in a compartment in the check-in luggage of Alan Soo Hoo, 68, according to Alexander Cauguiran, officer-in-charge of the state-owned Clark International Airport Corp., a member of the task group.

Soo Hoo, a resident of New York City in the United States, travelled from Dubai to CRK via Cebu on board Emirates flight EK338.

The task group was assisted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and US Drug Enforcement Agency.

Soo Hoo is now in police custody. RAM/rga
