CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE—Seven people were the latest casualties in the government’s war on drugs in Bulacan province this week, but the police are still determining if they were killed by vigilantes or drug syndicates.
Their bodies were found dumped in two villages here on Thursday and Friday bearing bullet wounds. Their hands and feet were tied and cardboard signs were placed beside the corpses, reading “I am a pusher.”
Only two bodies had been identified—those of Dennis Igno and Marjory Terseño, who were in their late 20s and who were on the drug watch list, according to Supt. Wilson Magpali, city police chief.
The Central Luzon chapters of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) are ready to help victims of supposed summary executions, said Jose dela Rama Jr., the group’s regional governor, provided complaints are valid.
IBP also volunteered to help police with legal issues they may face in the war on drugs.
Buy-bust
In Zambales province, three drug suspects were killed by the police in separate antidrug operations in Olongapo City on Friday.
Feliciano Peco was killed in a buy-bust operation in Olongapo City when he shot an undercover policeman, a police report said.
Nilo Deguirio and Jerry Suarez were killed in another buy-bust operation in Olongapo.
