JONES, Isabela—The police on Saturday uncovered guns, ammunition and sachets of suspected “shabu” in a raid on the house of Jones Vice Mayor Evelyn Raspado’s son, Glenford, in Barangay Uno.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Bonifacio Ong of the regional trial court in Echague, a team from Isabela’s Special Weapons and Tactics unit, the Isabela police’s Public Safety Company, and the Philippine Army seized an Armalite rifle, a .45-cal. handgun, and suspected shabu inside Glenford’s house.
Glenford was not at home during the raid. His mother protested the police operation, saying, “My son has not been maintaining a shabu laboratory here and he was not a drug pusher.”
Glenford was among the people who surrendered to the police, confessing he had a drug addiction but was ready to cooperate with authorities.
Glenford’s father was slain Vice Mayor Florante Raspado who was shot dead along with a government aide, Anthony Agarin, at the municipal hall last year.
