Man stabbed by neighbor in Lapu

A 55-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed and wounded by his neighbor whom he confronted for allegedly spreading rumors against his daughter in barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City.

Danilo Ugsang was stabbed in the abdomen by Mario Leonardo, 55, who was arrested after the incident.

Police said that past 3 a.m. last Thursday, Ugsang went to the house of Leonardo to confront his neighbor about reports that the suspect had been spreading rumors that his daughter had a relationship with a married man.

Ugsang threw stones at Leonardo’s house and demanded that he come out.

Leonardo went out of his house armed with a kitchen knife, which he used in stabbing Ugsang.

Ugsang was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital then moved to a hospital in Cebu City.
