SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — Two suspected drug pushers were killed in separate gunfights with policemen in Rizal province on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

In a report, the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police said Leonardo Cawigan fired at police agents conducting a sting operation when he sensed that he was dealing with law enforcers at 3 a.m. Monday in Barangay (village) San Vicente in Angono town. Police returned fire, hitting and killing Cawigan.

In Baras town, a still unidentified man was also killed in a shootout with policemen conducting a drug bust at in Barangay San Juan at 2:40 a.m.

Police recovered a .38 cal. gun and seven sachets that contained suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the slain suspect.  SFM
