DAGUPAN CITY — Six people were killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in various towns of Pangasinan province on Saturday.
Allan Vergara, 39, was attacked and killed as he drove his motorcycle through this city’s Barangay (village) Bonuan Gueset at 5:40 p.m.
On Saturday night, businessman Hilarion Jimenez, 66, was driving home when a motorcycle overtook him and its backrider shot him in the face at 11 p.m.
The attack forced Jimenez’s vehicle to crash into the concrete barriers of the De Venecia road and overturn, but its passenger, Cipriano Castro, survived.
Earlier in Rosales town, market supervisor Rodolfo Madriaga, 63, was driving to town on his motorcycle when he was shot by gunmen at 8:15 a.m. He died on the way to a hospital.
At 10 a.m. in Urdaneta City, two masked gunmen got off their motorcycle, entered an eatery in Barangay (village) Nancamaliran East and shot Rogelio Vargas, 49. Police said Vargas was on the village’s drug watch list.
At 9:30 p.m. in San Carlos City, gunmen shot and killed Gerardo Tamondong, 48, who was working in his vulcanizing shop in Bolingit village.
He was taken to a hospital but a doctor declared him dead on arrival.
In Urbiztondo town, Marguel Palisoc Tanedo, 21, was walking home in Barangay Poblacion at 11:15 p.m. when he was shot several times. JE/rga
