DAVAO CITY—Two officials of the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Southern Mindanao have resigned amid an investigation on the regional office’s alleged illegal issuance of franchises.
In a media release by LTFRB 11 on Friday, the resigned officials were identified as Regional Director Benjamin Go and administrative officer Edgar Crisanto Violan.
Go resigned on Thursday while Violan resigned on Aug. 16, the release said.
Earlier, an audit team from the LTFRB central office, which was brought in by LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III, conducted a spot audit of the regional office.
During the audit, the team found several case folders with questionable franchise issuances, the release said.
The questionable franchise folders had since been brought to Manila for further investigation.
