Those who plan to take vacations during holidays next year, take note.
President Duterte has issued Proclamation No. 50, declaring the list of regular holidays and special nonworking days for 2017.
The regular holidays are: New Year’s Day, Jan. 1; Araw ng Kagitingan, April 9; Maundy Thurday and Good Friday, April 13 and 14; Labor Day, May 1; Independence Day, June 12; National Heroes’ Day, Aug. 28; Bonifacio Day, Nov. 30; Christmas Day, Dec. 25; and Rizal Day; Dec. 30.
The special nonworking days are: Chinese New Year, Jan. 28; Edsa People Power Anniversary, Feb. 25; Black Saturday, April 15; Ninoy Aquino Day, Aug. 21; addition to All Saints’ Day, Oct. 31; All Saints Day, Nov. 1; last day of the year, Dec. 31. Leila B. Salaverria
