Drug suspects in Iloilo, Guimaras killed in buy-bust op
ILOILO CITY—Police separately gunned down two drug suspects in Iloilo and Guimaras provinces less than 13 hours apart after they supposedly resisted arrest.
Angelo Abebinir died about 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday at the public cemetery in Barangay Bacjawan Sur in Concepcion town in Iloilo during a buy-bust operation, according to a report reaching the Western Visayas police office in Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.
Abebinir allegedly drew and fired a 12-gauge pistolized gun at a police operative, prompting other policemen to fire at him.
In a separate buy-bust operation, policemen also gunned down Reynante Tanaleon at about 5:45 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Agsanayan in Buenavista town in Guimaras, according to a separate police report.
Tanaleon allegedly fought back against police operatives before he was killed.
Police recovered from the suspect three sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” P500 in marked money, and a .357-caliber homemade hand gun with five ammunition and an empty shell.
