Feisty cat attacks 7 pit bulls, sends their owner to hospital

A peaceful stroll of a woman and her seven pit bulls in British Columbia, Canada, turned into a horrifying nightmare after a tough kitty attacked them on Monday.

Kyla Grover was walking her dogs when one of them showed friendly interest at 78-year-old Betty Jean Thompson, who was then gardening. Then, the leashed pups started barking at Baby, her feline pet, who was seated beside Thompson. The scowling kitty then launched her attack at the canines.

“The dogs were walking by, completely minding their own business,” Grover told Vancouver Sun.

“The cat is swiping at them and latched onto one of the dog’s faces,” she added. “I got bit and scratched in the process of trying to separate them,” Grover said. “I spent the whole night at emergency because cat bites are nasty.”

Baby’s owner agreed to pay $222 (P10,300) for Bandida, one of the pit bulls whose face was severely injured. The pit bull suffered from heavy scratches on her face and was almost blinded by the feisty kitty.

Betty Jean’s husband, Del Thompson, said Baby was their beloved and protective pet for the past 16 years. “She’s a watchdog and doesn’t know it,” he said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
