2 drown in Rizal amid heavy rains

SAN PEDRO CITY — Two persons drowned at the height of strong rains in Rizal province in the past two days, police said on Wednesday.

In a report, Senior Supt. Adriano Enong, Rizal provincial police director, said the body of an unidentified man was found in Laguna Lake at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Tagpos in Binangonan town.

He said fisherman Aris Luklukan found the body and tied it to a bamboo pole in a fish pen as he went to report his discovery of a body to authorities. The man was wearing an orange shirt and a pair of red and blue shorts.

In Taytay town, the body of an unidentified woman was also found floating in Damayan River in Barangay San Juan.

Fisherman Daniel Palisoc found the body at 11:50 a.m. Monday.

The victim was believed to be 20 to 25 years old and wore a brown shirt and a pair of blue shorts.

The body was taken to the Antipolo Funeral Services in Antipolo City. SFM
