MANILA, Philippines –Malacañang has declared November 7 as a regular holiday in celebration of Eidul Adha, or the Islamic Feast of Sacrifice.
President Benigno Aquino III issued Proclamation No. 276, declaring that Eidul Adha, one of the two greatest feasts of Islam, as a regular holiday nationwide.
A declaration made by Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body set the festival on November 6 but the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended that the observance be made on November 7 and the Eidul Adha prayer be held on November 6.
