La Mesa Dam on red alert; evacuation recommended
La Mesa Dam in Quezon City was placed on red alert on Saturday due to continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon (Habagat).

As of 12 noon, La Mesa Dam engineer Teddy Angeles told radio DZMM that the dam’s water level was at 79.62 meters, nearing its spilling level of 80.15 meters.
Residents in nearby areas were advised to prepare for evacuation for a possible overflow.
Meanwhile, water level at Marikina River was up to 15 meters as of 11:37 a.m.
