MANILA — Two men suspected to be robbers were killed by patrolling cops’ in Sampaloc, Manila, on Thursday.
The cops said their “instincts” told them the victims were robbers for jumping over a center island in Sampaloc, Manila.
The men who remained unidentified were shot dead by PO1s Aldrich Aglaua, Judel Gonzales, and Elmer Trani.
The patrol cops claimed a shootout ensued after they called the suspects’ attention following their suspicious jump over the center island.
“The crew was traversing Alture Bridge when they spotted two unidentified (men)…acting with haste, suddenly jumped from the center island,” the police men told Manila police homicide division.
They added that “instinctively the three stopped and alighted from the mobile to accost the two men but surprisingly,” one of the suspects pulled out a gun “but failed to hit his target.”
Aglaua “retaliated” after “sensing imminent and actual dangers on their lives” and hit the victim in the body.
The other victim, after seeing his friend’s gun fall, “picked it up” in front of three cops, prompting Trani and Gonzales to shoot him dead. They added that a .38-caliber gun and sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were recovered from the dead bodies. SFM
