At least 10 individuals died following an explosion inside the Parañaque City Jail compound Thursday night.
In a DZBB radio report, Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez confirmed that among the 10 fatalities were two Chinese inmates, who were declared dead on arrival after they were rushed to the Ospital ng Parañaque.
The other casualties are still inside the city jail compound as of this writing.
Quoting the police, the report said the explosion happened around 8:30 p.m. inside the office of jail warden Supt. Gerald Bantag on the first floor of the building.
Bantag sustained shrapnel wounds.
The report added that residents near the city jail heard at least three explosions following gunfire inside the compound. TVJ
