Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella issued the statement a day after Malacañang announced that it would release names of local officials untainted of the drug menace.

“First and foremost, I doubt if there will be incentives given for doing what their job is anyway or not doing what they should not be doing, it will be based on intelligence reports that are validated,” Abella said.

Various local officials including law enforcers and judges have been identified on the list released by President Rodrigo Duterte as having linked to the illegal drugs trade.

Andanar said the idea came after his meeting with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

“We thought that it was also proper to celebrate the untainted reputation of LGU executives when it comes to illegal drugs,” he said.
