Payment through Beep cards tested on Cavitex

Holders of Beep cards can now use it to pay toll on Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), the first time it will be used for payment on a tollway.

In its limited public trial which started last Monday, Beep card holders use it as payment for the toll of Class 1 vehicles. This means that those exiting Parañaque and Kawit can use their beep cards to pay their P24 and P64 tolls, respectively.

“Extending the use of Beep cards as a payment option at Cavitex represents another step towards making the Beep card an all-in-one travel card for commuters and even private vehicle owners.”

“We hope that the low cost of the Beep card (P20) and the wide network of loading options being developed will appeal to drivers who pass along CAVITEX and are interested in passing the toll gates more quickly” said AF Payments Inc. CEO and President Peter Maher.

Motorists can purchase or reload their Beep cards at the Parañaque Customer Service Center during the trial phase.

Cavitex President J. Luigi L. Bautista hailed the move of introducing Beep card for payment in the tollway as a “welcome development.”

“The management of Cavitex is proud to be part of the modernization of different aspects of travel in the Philippines. Now, even private vehicle owners and their passengers can feel the benefits of having the Beep card,” said Bautista.

Beep cards are accepted in all three elevated railway systems and some bus lines. The said card is valid for four years. IDL
