PH U-16 TEAM ROUTS INDONS

THE ENERGEN Pilipinas Under-16 squad are off to a rousing start in the FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship as they took care of Indonesia, 93-30, in their first game late Wednesday night at the Khanh Hoa Sports Center in Vietnam.

Jay Alejandro and Kyles Lao starred for the Nationals as they scored a total of 32 points to help overpower their Southeast Asian rivals in group D action during the preliminary round.

With speed as their main weapon, the young nationals raced to a 56-13 halftime lead and kept the Indonesians at a distance the rest of the way.

Isaac Go and Prince Rivero shot nine points each and Rev Diputado added eight markers.

The Philippines sustained its strong play in the second half with every player in the 12-man roster barging in the scoring column.
