THE ABELLANA National School (ANS) gets another chance at a title they last held in 2007 when they face defending champions Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) in today’s finals of the Cebu City Olympics secondary football at the University of San Carlos Technological Center.
ANS advanced to the finals via a 1-0 edging of Springdale in the semis while DBTC annihilated Maria Montessori International School (MMIS), 14-0, for a finals seat.
Eager to once again represent Cebu City in the Central Visayas Regional Athletics Association (CVIRAA) meet and the Central Visayas in the Palarong Pambansa, ANS head coach Francis Ramirez said his team will do its best to wrest the crown.
“We will just play our natural game. We will adjust to how our opponents will set up their play, if they attack, we will play defense then we will execute our set plays,” Ramirez said.
It will not be easy as after the DBTC Greywolves defeated them last year. DBTC went on to rule in the CVIRAA and ended Central Visayas’ title-drought in the Palarong Pambansa secondary football competition.
ANS will be missing one of its defenders in Daryll “Dogoy” Villaver, who was red carded yesterday.
Fighting for the title in the elementary division are DBTC and Bright Academy .
