Monsoon rains to persist over Luzon, Western Visayas—Pagasa

Monsoon rains will continue to affect Luzon and Western Visayas as the state weather bureau on Tuesday raised rainfall warnings over Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.

In its 5 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the low pressure area was estimated at 815 kilometers east of Calayan Island.

The orange rainfall warning was raised over Zambales and Bataan where flooding is threatening, while Metro Manila, Cavite, Tarlac, Pampanga and Bulacan were under yellow rainfall warning, where flooding is possible in low-lying areas.

Pagasa said monsoon rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CALABARZON ((Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro and Palawan.

Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon, as well as the rest of the country, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Pagasa added that moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the entire archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
