THE Philfruits Association Inc.
(PFA), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, will hold its 19th national fruit symposium with the theme “Harnessing science and technology towards a dynamic and sustainable fruit production” on Oct. 24-28 at DepEd Ecotech in Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.
The activity will feature plenary and technical sessions, paper and oral presentations, posters and exhibits and educational tours.
It will also recognize individuals who have shown great performances in their field of work. These awards include the Leon G. Gonzales Award of Distinction (individual award), PFA Award of Distinction (institutional award), PFA Honorary Fellows, PFA Achievement awards as well as best paper and poster exhibit awards.
Scientific papers and posters for presentation and exhibit will include topics, such as health and nutrition, updates/advances in fruit production and management, crop diversification, fruit diversity-germplasm collection, breeding and varietal improvement, organic fruit farming and postharvest handling, marketing and product utilization.
