CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines — Mabalacat City Mayor Marino Morales said he has reached out to the police to clear his name, saying it was “unfortunate” that he was named by President Duterte as one of 7 Luzon mayors involved in the illegal drugs trade.

Morales said he would clear his name by going to the President or to Director General Ronald de la Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police, to give his side.

The mayor said his political detractors were behind his inclusion in the list./rga
