LEGAZPI CITY, Albay—Residents here felt a magnitude 3.5-quake strong enough to make hanging objects sway Friday night.

According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake’s epicenter was located in Sto. Domingo town in Albay at 9:12 p.m.

“There is no cause for worry, but we are advising residents to follow instructions from the local government unit and do the ‘duck, cover, and hold’ manuever,” Alex Baloloy, Phivolcs science research analyst, said.

No tsunami warnings were issued but Phivolcs advised residents in coastal barangays to gather on a higher ground.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity 4 in Sto. Domingo and Intensity 3 in Legazpi City.

As of press time, Phivolcs has recorded two more quakes and imperceptible aftershocks in Sto. Domingo.

Last Thursday morning, a 3.6-magnitude quake was also recorded in Tabaco City, Albay.
