Libyan ambassador thanks NATO, US, global allies

WASHINGTON—The Libyan ambassador to Washington thanked the United States, NATO and the international community for their help in toppling Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi, who was killed Thursday.

“The era of abuse, the era of dictatorship is over. The dream came true,” said Libyan Ambassador Ali Aujuli in a brief statement standing in the entrance of the embassy after news of Gadhafi’s death.

“Thank you United States, thank you NATO, thank you Egypt, thank you Qatar, thank you Tunisia, thank you the international community,” he said.
