40 armed men burn construction equipment in Apayao

BAGUIO CITY — Construction equipment, including dump trucks, were burned by 40 armed men in Apayao province on Wednesday night (Aug. 3), a police bulletin stated.

The Cordillera Police Office is investigating reports that the armed group entered a work camp of the Omengan Construction and Development Corporation (OCDC) at Barangay (village) Guinaang in Conner town.

The group set on fire three dump trucks at 8:30 p.m. before speeding off in a fourth dump truck and a pick-up truck owned by the firm.

The Apayao police are tracking down the group, which was last seen driving towards Manag village.  SFM/rga
