Search for happiest Filipino for 2012 is on

The search for the happiest Filipino for the year 2012 is on.

Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions (CLIS) announced in a launching ceremony held at Edsa Shangri-La Manila in Mandaluyong that it was accepting nominations to the competition from October 21 to May 30, 2012.

Any Filipino of legal age and of good moral character who resides in the country may be nominated.

Nomination forms may be secured at www.happiest-pinoy.com, and, once accomplished, may be sent to the CLIS head office at 821 A. Spring corner JP Rizal Streets in Makati City.

Jonathan Batangan, CLIS general manager, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that ten finalists will be chosen from all the nominees nationwide, but only one will be named the Happiest Pinoy 2012.

The winner, who will receive a P250,000 cash prize and a trophy, will be announced by the board of judges on or before June 30, 2012.

The board is composed of known personalities in various disciplines, including Carmencita Abella, president and CEO of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation; Armin Luistro, education secretary; former Senator Miguel Zubiri; Efren Peñaflorida, 2009 CNN Hero of the Year; and Leticia Ramos-Shahani, president of the Brahma Kumaris Foundation Philippines.

Winston Maxino, Happiest Pinoy of 2010, is also a member of the board of judges.
