Jailed Davao Sur governor walks free after posting bail

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – Jailed Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Cagas has been granted temporary liberty after he posted bail on Wednesday morning.

Cagas was jailed while facing murder charges in connection with the killing of journalist Nestor Bedolido in June 2010.

Provincial Board Member Marivic Diamante, a known Cagas supporter, said the court granted a P1-million bail for Cagas and former Matanao town Mayor Butch Fernandez.

Cagas and Fernandez were accused of masterminding the killing of Bedolido. Both denied the allegation.  SFM
