Leyte mayor’s son left PH in June–source

Rolando “Kerwin” Espinosa Jr. has been out of the country even before President Rodrigo Duterte officially ascended to power in June, according to a source.

The source, who requested anonymity for lack of authority to speak to the media on the matter, said Espinosa, quietly left Manila last June 21 for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via budget airline Cebu Pacific.

Flight records showed that Espinosa flew under the name Rolan Eslabon Espinosa, said the source.

Espinosa, the son of Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. is wanted by authorities for allegedly running the illegal drug trade in Eastern Visayas. Police earlier said that father and son were considered “high-value” targets, operating the illegal drug trade as a “family enterprise.” CDG/RAM
