SEN. LEILA de Lima will be in the hot seat today on INQ 990 TV’s weekly interview show, “INQ&A.”

“INQ&A” is a multiplatform talk show that is broadcast live every Tuesday, 8 to 9 p.m., via Radyo Inquirer 990AM, INQ 990 Television (Digital Terrestrial Television), and Inquirer.net’s Facebook and Youtube accounts.

Hosted by Inquirer.net editor in chief John Nery and chief of reporters Kristine Sabillo, the show aims to cater to the public’s demand for insightful interviews with the country’s leading newsmakers, many of whom are newly elected and appointed officials.

New role

The second episode, which will be aired live this evening, will feature De Lima in an hour-long interview that will focus on her new role as the chair of the Senate justice committee and her stand on the controversial antidrug campaign of the Duterte administration.

The former justice secretary earlier asked the Senate to investigate the extrajudicial killings of suspected criminals amid the government’s war against illegal drugs. More than 400 people have been killed since President Duterte assumed office a month ago. Many of the victims were suspected drug users and pushers killed allegedly during police operations. The rest were assassinated allegedly by vigilante groups.

De Lima is also expected to weigh in on the prospects of a death penalty bill and other controversial measures being approved into law.

The senator, who has traded barbs with the President, will also share her thoughts on working with the administration and dealing with her critics.

Inquirer 990 TV may be viewed through ABS-CBN’s TV Plus, RCA and Godan digital TV boxes.
