OLONGAPO CITY — Policemen shot dead two suspected drug pushers during separate operations here over the weekend.

Rommel Rodaste was killed after he aimed his handgun at an undercover policeman in Barangay (village) New Banicain at 3 a.m. on Sunday. Forensic investigators recovered 8 sachets of suspected shabu, the gun, a knife, and the marked money at the crime scene.

Earlier at 7 p.m. on Saturday in New Cabalan village, Rodolfo Santillan was shot  when he fired at two policemen serving an arrest warrant inside his house. Santillan was being arrested for possessing unlicensed weapons and was under police surveillance on suspicion that he was selling illegal drugs, according to a report sent to the Inquirer by Insp. Vivianne Reyes, deputy station commander of police station 4.
Recovered from Santillan’s house were 4 sachets of supposed shabu, the hand gun and a set of bullets.  JE/rga
