Drug pusher killed in Albay buy-bust

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a firefight with police during a buy-bust operation in Ligao City in Albay Thursday night.

Senior Inspector Maria Louisa Calubaquib, information officer of the Bicol police, said Jeffrey Garcia, 31, resident of Barangay Tuburan, suddenly drew a gun and fired at policemen conducting the buy-bust after personally delivering the illegal drugs at around 6:20 p.m. in Barangay Pandan. The police fired back and hit Garcia who died while being transported to the hospital.

Recovered from the scene were two pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), a revolver of still unknown caliber loaded with three bullets and two pieces of fired bullet shells.  SFM
