THE summer season officially ended last week, ushering in rains a few days ahead of June.
Rains in the Visayas are caused by the inter-tropical convergence zone, said the state-run weather bureau Pag-asa.
Pag-asa weather analyst Ella Comahig said the Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains this week. The first tropical depression entered Philippine territory and as of 2 p.m. was 1,220 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Comahig said they are monitoring to see if it develops into a storm. /Correspondents Carmel Loise Matus
