BATANGAS CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed after he engaged policemen in a firefight in Barangay (village) Sta. Clara here on Wednesday morning, police said.
Supt. Jacinto Malinao, the Batangas provincial police intelligence chief, said Eduard Arago fired at policemen who were serving him an arrest warrant at 8:30 a.m.
Policemen retaliated, hitting Arago who, reports said, was a member of an illegal drugs syndicate operating in the city.
Arago died while being taken to the Batangas Medical Center here.
Police recovered a .45caliber pistol, two plastic sachets containing five grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the slain suspect. SFM
