QC antidrug cop killed in shootout with fellow policemen

One of the team leaders of the Quezon City Police’s anti-illegal drugs unit suspected of being involved in illegal drug trade died in a shootout with his fellow policemen early Monday morning.

Senior Insp. Ramon Castillo, 46, of the QC police district’s anti-illegal drugs special operations task group (DAID SOTG), died while trying to escape arrest after a buy-bust operation in Barangay  Greater Fairview at 3:35 a.m.

A report from the QCPD said a buy bust was launched against Castillo after he was found to be linked to drug recycling.

During the operation, the suspect sensed that he was transacting with operatives, prompting him to run and shot at the pursuing policemen.
