Task Group Pavia probes teacher’s slay
THE EASTERN Police District (EPD) has formed a special investigation task group which will meet every week to speed up the hunt for the killer of an Ateneo High School teacher in Marikina City last week.
Senior Supt. Romulo Sapitula, acting EPD director, announced to reporters on Monday the creation of Task Group Pavia, an investigating body composed of 23 policemen from the district and led by Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday, Marikina police chief.
Ateneo math teacher Emmanuel Joseph Pavia, who suffered three gunshot wounds, was killed by a still unidentified man on Joseph Avenue at Dela Costa Homes in Barangay Barangka, Marikina City, past 7 p.m. Monday.
“I will not impose any deadline but I will make sure they will focus on the case,” Sapitula said, adding that he would meet with the task group every week.
