2 injured in Makati rockslide now stable

MANILA, Philippines —Two persons who were injured in a rockslide in Makati City Thursday afternoon were in a stable condition, a doctor from Ospital ng Makati told INQUIRER.net.

Dr. Alex Mamalateo of OsMak said the two suffered injuries from the rockslide along the C5 highway U-turn slot in Barangay East Rembo in Guadalupe, Makati City at around 2 p.m.

Mamalateo said the victims, a 21-year-old woman rushed to their hospital by medics from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and a minor who personally went to OsMak for “minor abrasions on the head”, were still being treated but were not in critical condition.

Rowena Reyes, group leader of the medics from the MMDA, said the 21-year-old woman who may have suffered bone fracture after being pinned under large rocks.

Reyes said that the wall along the U-turn slot eroded, causing the rockslide.

Several other people were given first aid treatment for minor bruises.
