THE Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed the proposal of President Duterte to use military camps as drug rehabilitation centers.
“We fully support the initiatives of our commander-in-chief to rehab drug users and provide them a second chance at life,” AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said on Monday.
Duterte said in his first State of the Nation Address that he was considering the use of military camps as treatment centers for former drug users who want to reform themselves.
“We look forward to working closely with relevant agencies that are trained and empowered to do this so we can approach and carry out programs in the most efficient, appropriate and effective manner,” Padilla said.
During his campaign for the May elections, Duterte promised to eliminate drugs if he becomes President./rga
