Recto will be Senate minority leader—Trillanes
Senator Ralph Recto, a member of the Liberal Party, will be elected Minority Leader at the Senate when the 17th Congress opens this Monday.
“He will be the Minority Leader,” Senator Antonio Trillanes IV told reporters ahead of the opening of the 17th Congress.
Trillanes said the agreement was reached between Recto and Senator Francis Escudero, who was earlier reported to head the new opposition group in the Senate.
“Yun ang napag usapan. Actually ang nag usap sila Senator Chiz and I was informed about it. Tinawagan din ako ni Senator Ralph, nag agree naman kaming tatlo,” the senator added.
(That was what was discussed. Actually, it was Rector and Senator Chiz who talked and I was informed about it. Senator Ralph called me up and all three of us agreed.)
