Bangladeshis vs Bangladeshi: 4 caught robbing Pasay warehouse owner
Four people, including two Bangladeshis and an antinarcotics agent, were arrested on Saturday afternoon for robbing a garments warehouse in Pasay City owned by another Bangladeshi.
Mohammad Anowar Hossain, 38, residing in Malate, Manila, and Kamal Hossan, 38, residing in Tondo, Manila, have amassed P15-million worth of clothing merchandise by threatening fellow Bangladeshi suppliers since last year, according to Anwar Hossain, president of the Bangladesh Garments Association in the Philippines.
Lawrence Anthony Daliscon, 33, intelligence officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Jelyn Parraguirre, 28, resident of Makati City, were also arrested on Saturday by members of the Libertad police community precinct at the warehouse owned by couple Nafi and Imee Sardar located on Taft Avenue corner Pilapil Street.
“We hope they (suspects) will not get out of jail or that they get deported. They are a danger to us,” Anwar Hossain told the Inquirer on Sunday, adding that the suspects were also tagged in the kidnapping of Tamim Ahmad, another Bangladeshi garments seller who was later rescued.
The warehouse caretaker, Mostafizur Rahman, 34, told the police that the four suspects armed with guns and knives took P250,000 worth of garments on Friday, July 22. The suspects returned on Saturday and took more items amounting to P50,000.
Someone was able to call the police and a team led by Insp. Paul Kenneth Magan responded, arresting the suspects.
