LOOK: Man clambers up to PNR handrail to avoid packed coach

An unidentified man took a drastic measure to escape from being squished by his fellow passengers in a crowded Philippine National Railways (PNR) coach.

In photos posted by Edmer Bade on his Facebook account, a man can be seen on his back atop the train’s steel handrail while the other passengers looked on.

Bade said that the incident happened on Wednesday night at the PNR’s FTI station.

In an interview with INQUIRER.net, Bade said that the passengers of the train were amused by the man’s antics.

“Wala pong [sumaway] eh. Tuwang-tuwa lang po kameng mga pasahero sa kanya (Nobody said anything to him. We passengers were just amused by him),” he said.

He said that the man stayed on top of the handrail from FTI station until Bicutan station.

His post has since become viral, with 1,813 shares as of posting time.

The PNR serves 70,000 passengers in its 46 trips daily. AJH/JE
