40-year-old man killed in Bacolod City fire

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines—One person was killed while two others were wounded in a fire that hit Purok Langis, Barangay (village) Banago in Bacolod City at 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday.

The fire also destroyed 25 houses and damaged four others, according to a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Killed was Roland Embediado, 40, while those wounded were identified as Randy Barroquiña and Flordeliza Barroquiña.

The initial cause of fire was an unattended lighted candle used during a brownout, the BFP said.
