Pulse Asia: Robredo trusted by ‘sizable majority’
Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is trusted by a “sizable majority” of Filipinos, pollster Pulse Asia said in its latest survey.
The results of the July 2 to 8 survey released on Wednesday showed that 62 percent trust Robredo, 11 percent distrust her, while 27 percent were ambivalent.
“Most Filipinos – regardless of geographic location and socio-economic status – say they trust Vice-President Robredo (58 percent to 72 percent and 53 percent to 64 percent, respectively),” Pulse Asia President Ronald Holmes said.
Robredo, a former representative of Camarines Sur in the Bicol region, posted her highest trust rating in the Visayas (72 percent), followed by the National Capital Region (65 percent), Mindanao (61 percent), and Luzon (58 percent).
Across socioeconomic classes, the vice president posted the highest rating from respondents belonging to Class D (64 percent), followed by those from Class E (61 percent) and Class ABC (53 percent).

She was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as his housing czar.
Meanwhile, the same poll showed that the public’s sentiment toward Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is dominated by indecision.
“Trust in the latter is more manifest than distrust (35 percent versus 19 percent). Big plurality indecision figures are posted by the Supreme Court Chief Justice in the Visayas (43 percent) and Class E (46 percent),” Holmes said.
The poll showed Duterte getting a record-high 91 percent trust rating, beating the record of former President Benigno Aquino III.

The Pulse Asia poll has 1,200 adult respondents and has a ± 3 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level. Subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas covered in the survey (i.e., Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) have a ± 6 percent error margin. IDL
