Caloocan cop tagged as drug dealer killed in ‘gunfight’

A POLICEMAN from the Northern Police District who was allegedly involved in drugs was killed in an alleged shootout with his fellow police officers on Monday in Caloocan City.

 

Superintendent Ferdinand del Rosario, assistant Caloocan City Police Chief, said PO3 Roberto Cahilig, Jr., 47, of the NPD anti-illegal drugs unit, shot it out with Caloocan City policemen who were conducting Oplan Tokhang in Barangay Concepcion Tala around 2 p.m.

SPO2 Allan Budios, case investigator, said in his initial report that policemen from PCP 4 Caloocan North Extension Office and Station Anti-illegal Drugs Unit launched a joint operation after Superintendent Reydante Ariza received confidential information on the alleged involvement of Cahilig in drugs.

Cahilig was allegedly using several aliases in his drug deals.

Recovered from him were two plastic sachets of shabu, a 9mm Beretta, a magazine loaded with 6 bullets, police said.
