Surigao del Sur town cop chief loses post after sexual attack

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur—The police chief of Barobo town in Surigao del Sur was relieved from his post after he was accused of sexually assaulting his subordinate, a policewoman.

The incident supposedly took place on the night of July 11 when Chief Insp. Dominador Plaza drove the victim home in his Ford Everest Titanium car where he allegedly tried to rape her.

A statement of the victim documented at the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) at the police provincial office in Tandag City disclosed that Plaza reclined the car seat and forcibly lay on top of her.

Plaza, however, failed in his plan as the policewoman resisted. Instead, he masturbated in front of the policewoman.

After the incident, the police official took her home and while on the way he continued to talk about what had happened.

The 31-year-old victim, who is married, ignored Plaza talking to himself until she reached home.

Plaza was relieved from his post while the victim was reassigned to the WCPD Regional Office in Butuan City for her safety.

She said she and her husband were committed to pursue the administrative and criminal charges against Plaza. RAM/rga
