CLARK FREEPORT– Eight planes landed at the Clark International Airport (CRK) here on Monday morning due to repairs being undertaken on the runway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Pasay City, officials said.
Diverted to CRK were Air Philippines flight 2080 from Catarman, Air Philippine flight 2890 from Ozamis, Philippine Airlines flight from Dubai, two Zest Air flight from Cebu, Cebu Pacific from Davao, Cebu Pacific from Butuan and Philippine Airlines flight from General Santos City, according to Ding Aranas, manager of terminal operations of the state-run Clark International Airport Corp.
The aircraft and their passengers landed safely at CRK, he said. The planes also refueled at CRK before heading to Naia. CRK is north of Naia.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines tower advised the 8 planes to divert to CRK, said Maricor Cinco, CAAP supervisor. JE/rga
