Former TV station worker nabbed for theft

A FORMER utility worker of the Cebu Catholic Television Network (CCTN) was arrested for stealing several items worth P100,000 owned by the TV station.

Daniel Tuboc, 24, of barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City, will be facing theft charges.

Police said Tuboc admitted the crime, saying he was  forced to steal because he didn’t have money to spend for his wife who had just given birth.

Police said the theft, which happened before midnight last Oct. 18, was caught by security cameras.

Police said Tuboc entered the editing room through the kitchen. The man was even seen changing the position of the camera.

Once inside the editing room, the suspect took a laptop, a digital camera, and other editing materials.

When the theft was discovered, a station representative went to Tuboc to inform him that the company would hire him as a driver.

Tuboc went to the CCTN office where he was arrested by police.
