STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija — Hooded gunmen shot and killed a former migrant worker last Sunday, and injured a female companion.
Chris Jake Germino, who was an overseas Filipino worker, was driving along the Sta. Rosa-Dingalan Road in Barangay (village) Liwayway here when he was attacked at 6:05 p.m.
His 28-year-old passenger was shot in the right thigh, left wrist and head.
The police said they were rushed to a hospital in Cabanatuan City but Germino was declared dead on arrival. Police said the fatality was in their drug watch list.
Investigators recovered 39 spent bullets fired from an M16 rifle and three spent bullet shells from a 9mm pistol.
On the same day in San Leonardo town, motorcycle riding gunmen chased after 37-year-old Liza Flores but failed to kill her. Flores was playing cards with neighbours at 3:30 p.m., when the gunmen aimed their guns at her. One of the guns jammed allowing Flores to flee. The gunmen gave chase and shot at Flores but they missed, said PO2 Giovani Peñamante, San Leonardo police investigator. He said Flores was in the town’s drug watch list, too.
On Sunday at 5:15 p.m., motorcycle riding gunmen shot the hands of Antonio Lumibao, Jr., 43, who was driving his vehicle through Cabanatuan City.
At 8 p.m., Philgerous Maniego, 36, was rushed to the San Antonio District Hospital for gunshot wounds, following an attack by two men in San Antonio town. SFM
