SAN PEDRO CITY— A suspected drug pusher was killed by policemen during a drug buy-bust operation in San Pablo City, Laguna, police said Saturday.
The slain suspect was identified as Dennis Lube, alias Toke, by Laguna police information officer Inspector Roselle Orate.
In a text message, Orate said the police conducted a buy-bust operation around 11 a.m. Friday in Barangay Sta. Elena wherein Lube allegedly drew his gun and fired shots, prompting the officers to shoot him down. Police recovered a .22-caliber rifle, 11 sachets of suspected “shabu” and some P300 cash from the suspect.

In Batangas City, suspected drug pusher Julian “Julie” Carpio, 50, and his son Julian Carpio Jr., 30, were also killed in an encounter with the policemen in Barangay Calicanto early this week. The police were about to arrest the elder Caprio, based on a warrant issued by judge Ruben Galvez of the regional trial court Branch 3.
During the arrest, Carpio fired shots, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate. He and his son were wounded in the shootout and died hours later at the Batangas Medical Center, the police report said. Carpio was tagged as the most wanted criminal in Batangas province for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade and gun-running activities and the murder of a certain Ronnie Dagle in Batangas City on June 24.
The police also recovered 24 sachets of suspected “shabu” from the slain suspects. CDG
