LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – At least two suspected drug pushers were killed in a Thursday drug buy-bust operation in Sorsogon City, police said Friday.
In a report, Superintendent Nonito Marquez, public information officer of Sorsogon police, said after the drug transaction with police operatives in Sitio San Lorenzo in barangay Bibincahan at around 9 p.m., the unidentified back rider recognized the identity of the police poseur buyer and immediately drew a hand grenade. This prompted the policeman to draw his own pistol and shoot the back rider.
The driver, known only as “Jepoy,” also drew a caliber .38 revolver, prompting police to fire at him. Jepoy was killed instantly. Remains of the two suspects were subjected to autopsy as part of the investigation, the report said.
